Hi, it is my first experience with this project. Really excited to see how it goes.

Hi Thylias. Yes copyright is an interesting issue with collaborative work and anthologies etc. The interesting thing about this project is your submission is written speifically to fit the story, so it is unlikely you would ever want to re use that peice of work. If you did however want to use your accepted chapter and write a totally different novel around it (very unlikely) I couldn't see it being a problem!

Hello! --my first time visiting the site (actually my second comment; the other made just a couple of minutes ago.... The collaborative aspects actually fits in well, perfect  really --with my "Limited Fork Theory", what I developed and partcipated in at the University of Michiganm where I m now Professor Emerita... Still undecided about participation despite "limited fork's emphasis on sharing and collaboration... "Thylias Moss" is all over the internet, as is "limited fork" --with and without my name; didn't want to unduly influence "making" by "claiming" the theory as "exclusively" my own --that said, this project should be "perfect" for me... Will kee in touch.

What an interesting idea! --trying to determine if this is right for me.  I've had 10 books published throught convetional means, and as I wwas looking through my CRWOOPS emails, I noticed CWC and decided to investigate.  Still considering.  The lack of copyright for individuals worries me a bit... Hope that i decide soon.

Wow, what a cool addition to the site!

That excitement aside, I have loved the experience of writing in a fashion such as this.  Not knowing what the writers before me were thinking when they wrote their chapters, not knowing what the current writers are thinking who are challenging the same chapters as myself, and wondering what future authors will think when (and if) they read what I have written--it's absolutely astounding to know that a real novel will result from this insanity!

Each collaboration presents new challenges; it's more than adapting to a potentially unfamiliar genre, it's adapting to the writing style of a complete stranger (though, in a sense, we are all connected through the stories).  I have learned so much by participating in the three projects and I look forward to growing as a writer with CWC!

Laura, you're a saint for starting this (and continuing with this madness)!

Robert, believe me, I miss spell check when it's not there too!!!! LOL

Love absolutely everything about CWC; the people, the process, the fact that there's a hint of competitiveness.  Although the chapters I wrote for AMBITION were not selected, I had a great time creating them.  I was amazed that I would sit and think "Man I got nothing"  then moments later I would get an idea and four hours later I had a great chapter.  Well obviously not that great, they weren't chosen.  But having my 1st chapter picked for the sci-fi genre was an absolute thrill. I have writen numerouse novels but have failed to get an agent or publisher to pick them up. Would love to hear from anyone who has an "in" to this industry!  HAPPY WRITING!!!!!  Allways willing to correspond and would be happy to exchange works with others....share ideas.  Robert Mackey    Hey there's no spell check here.

Hi Rob,

I love hearing from fellow abctaler's, there are some very talented writers there, and that website provided the encouragement I needed to write when i was younger. I wish I had more time to writte now!! Have a look at the page for AMBITION and ARK, we have availability for both projects, and if your still keen, fill out the contact form with which project you are interested in, and I can add you to the schedule! - I'm gonna go and check out your abc page now! :-)

Hi Laura

Always liked the concept of this as there are so many aspiring writers and poets in the world whose talent remains relatively unseen. I've written poetry, non fiction and flash fiction quite extensively over seven years. I live in New Zealand, where we have a huge resource of emerging writers, along with a very unique perspective of life etc.

Personally, I would be most interested in participating at some point in your program and am sure that there are a great many others I know who would feel the same. Have a browse through my work at ABCtales 'Art of the Diver. Although it is but a small cross section of what I have produced, it should speak for itself. Look forward to hearing from you, take care & kind regards

Rob

I have had so much fun working as Story Coordinator for CWC. We just launched 'Ark' a week and a half ago, and I can't wait to see what all these imaginative, talented writers can brew up for the story! All the writers are incredible to work with - professional, positive, and so wonderfully dedicated. I think that this is a remarkable place for writers to hone their skills both in creating something from an extremely detailed prompt, and working with others for the sole purpose of creating a single piece that makes sense and is entertaining. It's a humbling experience for me too. Even as Story Coordinator, I have no control over where the story's going. That's up to the authors, and so far everything I've seen (including editing sections for 'The Concierge' and 'Ambition') have been remarkable. Thanks for letting me be a part of this! I can't wait for more!

I will be working on the "Ark" project and I just read the first chapter. It is very intriguing and I am looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds. The way you have set the stage you have given a lot of room for the writers to flex some creative muscle.

I have not been picked up by a literary agent or publishing house but I did self-publish my first book. If you have an interest in taking that avenue for your work I could let you know what steppes I took.

I have worked on The Concierge and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so much so that I have signed up for the second and third collaborations. For the second collaboration, I was lucky enough to have my first chapter submission selected as the next story we would go with.  I hope I will get the opportunity to add at least one more chapter.  A big thank you to Laura who has worked so hard to bring the first collaboration to its conclusion and wish everyone good luck with their submissions for any future projects.

So well organized! With so many writers involved chaos is to be expected but the story coordinators keep everything running smoothly. This is a great way to keep your writing skills sharp or to build them if you're a beginner. Everyone is of different writing levels and It feels more like telling stories around the campfire, minimal pressure and a lot of fun! I would highly suggest your involvement and if writing is not your thing you can always be a reader, so grab the marshmallows and come sit with us.
